Social Concepts Program
By: Foster Counselling Services
The focus of the Social Concepts Program is to help students face the challenge of adjusting to a world that is no longer as predictable and secure as it once was. Although many young people are able to master life challenges, childhood stress is at epidemic proportions. These problems make a dramatic statement about how different it is for many young people to cope with life's issues as well as with the typical milestones that characterize childhood development.
Given these realities, it is imperative that we address the social and emotional development of the children. It is proven that by enhancing the children's capabilities in school and by helping develop their self esteem, it provides and opportunity to conquer the future prospects.
The Social Concepts Program is and "Educational Program" and will not be regarded as "Group Therapy" nor does it replace individual counselling which some students receive.
Topics Covered By the Program include:
* Self Acceptance
* Feelings
* Learning Abour Our Behaviour
* Problem Solving/Decision Making
* Interpersonal Relationships
* Anger Management
* Coping Skills
