This year we will be studying the history of Canada from the very early years up until Confederation. We have four main clusters to work through. In these clusters we will be discussing various things about early Canada--before it was actually a country! Some of the things we will be looking at are: First Peoples, Early European Colonization(1600-1763), Fur Trade and
From British Colony to Confederation(1763-1867). We will be using our textbook for information as well as using the Internet and other sources. We will have many in class discussions and will be working on handouts and projects to help reinforce our discussions.
We have now completed our third cluster and are beginning our fourth and final cluster. In this last cluster we will deal with the years 1763 up to Confederation. We will be talking about immigration and how it affected the Aboriginals and how immigrants helped to shape Canada. We will also discuss citizenship and what 4 provinces first made up Canada. We will be doing some more projects and will have some more tests. Please watch this site for upcoming due dates.
